Next to Normal

The dynamic Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal is a searing depiction of a family in crisis. Student directed by senior Joshua Durfey, the story concerns a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness and the attempts to alleviate it have on her family. The musical also addresses issues such as grieving and loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life. This contemporary musical won three Tony Awards including Best Score. Don't miss the musical that The Washington Post called "melodic and blisteringly honest."
